Our Growth Inquiry

As part of our learning focus of "Growth" in Term 2, Timatanga are going to be discovering how chickens grow! For this to happen successfully, we need your help. Does anyone have (or have access to) any of the following that we could borrow:

  • Egg incubators
  • Heat emitting lamps with reflectors
  • Cardboard large appliance boxes (e.g. fridge)
  • Untreated wood shavings

If you already have chickens and would be happy for a small group of children to visit and ask questions, we would love to hear from you.

If you think you can help us out in any way, please email your child's Home Base teacher.

As part of our Growth Inquiry, we would also love to have a photo of each child as a baby. We thought we could have some fun picking out each other as well as learning about our own stages of growth. Please do not send a precious photo in case it gets lost or damaged, but if you do have one that we could copy or print out that would be great.

Family Photos

Please come in and have a look at our whares in our Whānau corner and scan the QR code to listen to your child's pepeha- they have worked really hard on combining on the elements of Visual art, Digital literacy and Te Re If you haven't sent in a family photo yet, we would love  it if you could,- a digital copy to your teacher is fine also!

TUESDAY- Library day
FRIDAY - Sausage Sizzle

Some of us have been doing some awesome Autumn writing over the past week. Here are some of the photos showing us having fun in the leaves.

In Daily Five at Literacy time- we have been doing some great learning by writing some silly sentences using our short vowels.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do come in and see us or make an appointment to  catch up, either before or after school.

 Have a happy week
Wendy, Andrea, Sarah.
