Week One

Kia ora,

Welcome back to the third term of the year. It was lovely to see everyone rested and rejuvenated and ready for another term.

We have had a fantastic day for Whole School Discovery. In the L1 space we did origami.  Here's a couple of photos of some of the children from our space practising their folding skills!

Here's a wee clip of Jack Derry perfecting his skateboarding skills! Pretty cool Jack!!

Inquiry this term is "Calling all Creators" where we will be looking at Enterprise.  We are in the midst of organising a trip for this. At this stage it is scheduled for Tuesday 6th August, but we will let you know more as our plans come together.

Lots of us are turning seven with birthday parties organised. Respectfully, could we please ask for birthday invitations to be handed out either before or after school rather than during learning times. could you also please have a discussion with your child about being aware of other's feelings as these are being handed out. Many thanks :)

Kia ora everyone

We just wanted to wish you all a happy holiday and also to say thank you for all your support over the past term. It has been a busy and challenging term with lots of change, but the children are thriving and are very settled and positive about all the changes we have made to our programme. We look forward to seeing you again after a restful and relaxing break!

A quick heads up about Term 3 as we have had some queries...
Our teaching team will continue unchanged into Term 3. Philippa Meek is also taking on some of the responsibilities that Carmel Knight undertook on a temporary basis, but her role in the Year two space remains unchanged.
However, in Weeks 7-10, I have been granted extended leave to travel back to Europe for six weeks with my husband. We are so lucky to have secured  Keith Hamilton to cover my teaching for these last four weeks of term. Keith will be a wonderful asset to the team and the children know him well already, so it will be a very easy transition.

Dates to be aware of in Term 3
Full school assemblies Week 3, 9th August
Week 7  2nd -6th Sep-Book Week
Māori Language week Week 8 9th-13th Sept
Timatanga Swim weeks - 16-27 September. Weeks 9-10 More information will follow

L3 hosted our  final assembly last Friday. They did us all proud! Ka pai L3!

Happy Holidays everyone
Wendy, Sarah and Andrea.
