Week 10! Where did this term go?

Kia Ora whanau,

It is hard to believe that it is the end of the term already... Time flies when you are having fun!

Kendall Skelton is away on her Honeymoon this week and we have the lovely Gillian Hardy in for her with L3.

Just a couple of things you may want to know:

Library
Due to swimming all of Year 2 will be going to the library on Friday morning, feel free to bring books to be returned any day during the week.

Hats
Please remember that in Term 4 hats MUST be worn when the children are outside, so it maybe a good idea to dig these out over the holidays to have ready for Monday Week 1.

Shoes
Hopefully all that wet weather is behind us! Term 4 will be a normal term for shoes, meaning that they will be able to be worn inside so slippers will not be needed.

Assembly
Due to swimming there will be no Timatanga assembly today and Year 2 will not be able to attend the whole school assembly on Friday.

Inquiry
Here is a reminder of a notice that should have already received via email, earlier today:

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We have begun planning for our Term 4 Inquiry, which follows on from our Change Makers focus this term.
Next term, we will follow an Inquiry path with the context of Myths and Legends.
To ‘spark’ this Inquiry in Week 1 next term, we plan to begin with a viewing of the modern day classic of Disney’s “Moana”.
This movie is rated PG, so we are asking you for permission for your child to watch it with the team. We know that many of the children have already seen the movie (and love it) but we are confident that many connections to traditional myths and legends will be able to be illustrated and discussed if they watch it again. The movie has been described as “a welcome return to old fashioned story telling” which is in line with our aims for this Inquiry.
Please let your Home Base teacher know if you do not give permission (before the start of term 4) to watch “Moana” in Week 1, Term 4.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Timatanga Home Base teachers

Swimming
As you will know we have been very busy at swimming these past two weeks, a huge thank you to all the parent helpers that have given up their time to either help us on the bus or at the pool it has been hugely appreciated!

Please remember on Friday that your child will need to bring along their PJ's as well as their togs.

Reminder of swimming times:
L1 will be leaving school at 12.30pm, Swimming at 1pm
L2 will be leaving school at 1pm, Swimming at 1.30pm
L3 will be leaving school at 1.30pm , Swimming at 2pm
