Week 5

Kia ora Whānau,

On Thursday we had a very interactive maths session with some of our senior students. They had made maths games and activities and joined us for our maths session to share these with us. All of the children were very engaged and enjoyed the time together.

Keeping Ourselves Safe programme
This programme enables children and young people to learn and apply a range of safety skills that they can use when interacting with others. More information can be found at the Keeping Ourselves Safe website here. All Timatanga Homebases will be working through this programme in weeks 5, 6 and 7 alongside our local community police office, Constable Ross.
We are having a parent information session run by Ross on Tuesday 3rd March at 2.15p.m in the school staffroom. If you would like to attend this- please RSVP to the office.

Reading:  Reminder for your child to keep all their instructional reading books in their Reading folder for the whole week. This allows them some browsing material for over the week and rereading texts is a brilliant way of building knowledge of sight words and increasing comprehension and fluency. Your reading teacher will empty your folder each Monday.

Poetry: We hope you are enjoying listening to your child read their poems from previous weeks and this week. Reminder to please put your poetry book in the poetry box every Monday.

We hope you have all had a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
